This is the outline of the site I designed for Georgetown University's Russian Club. I put it together for my friend Jessica, who was working with other students to establish the club and really mobilize it. Unfortunately, it didn't really get on its feet before Jessica graduated, so the site was never developed.

At the time, though, I was trying to organize what I could and throw in ideas. Read some of my input below.

You'll need to let me know what categories you want up there (perhaps you would rather have "Members" than "Leaders", or would like to add photos and information on the group and on all things Russian), and I would recommend developing sections on Russian Art, Literature, Music, Cuisine, History, etc.

I think something you should consider is having - in addition to movie nights - Russian Dinners, where people can get together (either at someone's dorm or apartment, or at a campus-based kitchen, if one is available to students) to cook and share traditional Russian dishes. Another really fun (though rather difficult, slightly expensive, and possibly not even Russian) project is Pisanki (or Pisanke, or Pisanice, depending on the culture), which is the dying of eggs. We do this every year with my Aunt Dicka - part of our Yugoslavian heritage. Perhaps it's a bit much.

As far as the web pages for all these subjects are concerned, they could be as simple as links to other sites that have more complete information on the subject (for example, your page on Russian Art could consist of a one-paragraph introduction and a series of links to Russian Art Museums and web-sites devoted to Russian Art and Artists).

Finally, I was only able to find one free on-line Russian-English translator and it actually allows you to put their translator onto your web-site. It's a great beginning resource, I think. However, since I have NO CLUE what to look for with these translations as far as character, case, &c, you'll need to correct any improper uses (the Russian for "Events" looks different than everything else - perhaps the one I used translates to "Things that may be permissable to have happen at you continually" when we all know I meant, "Things that may be permissable to have happen at you once and with an anticipated end."
